The Strolling Players are an ad-hoc group of Tamaritans members who perform small pieces of drama or readings out and about in Plymouth and surrounding areas. Currently coordinated by Hilary Walker, this page will let you know of the next planned events, and also report on previous events.

Performances are usually around 40 minutes long and can take any form. They are usually read performances rather than needing any line-learning.

For many years the Tamaritans Theatre Company has responded to requests from a variety of groups to provide short programmes of readings. Requests come from societies, clubs, churches and residential homes and from all age groups. The programmes offered are usually based on a theme, and current themes include ‘Animal Magic’ and ‘From Babe to Grave’. In the latter, six skilled performers portray a baby, a 3 year old boy, a female arsonist, twin boys and a range of adults in all sorts of situations, shapes and sizes. Each programme lasts about half an hour.
